Betway Bets of the Day: Bet on the Canucks to stay undefeated against the Flyers

1 month agoWelcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
The Vancouver Canucks continued to impress with a 4-3 win on Saturday night over the Oilers, winning both games in their home and home with Edmonton to start the season.
Casey DeSmith shined in the Vancouver crease, making 37 saves on 40 shots and earning second star honours. Edmonton opened the game as a massive -230 favourite and took it to the Canucks early, scoring just 42 seconds into the game. But Vancouver weathered the storm and battled out the victory.
Up next for the Canucks is a matchup with former head coach John Tortorella and the Philadelphia Flyers. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Main Prop
It’s hard to ascribe much value to a two game sample size, but Vancouver has the best power play in the NHL right now, and the Flyers have a 66% PK.
I like the Canucks to get one with the extra man tonight.
Player Prop
Elias Pettersson to score 2+ points at +162. My $10 bet would return $26.25.
Pettersson is currently tied with a plethora of other players for the NHL scoring lead and has scored at least two points in both of his appearances this season. The last time the Canucks played the Flyers, Pettersson scored five points. We will risk .8 units on this play.
Money-line
Canucks to win money-line at -130. My $12.50 bet would return $22.11.
In years past, this game had classic Canucks letdown written all over it, but I think Tocchet has done a great job implementing a system the team has bought in to. Vancouver should win this game, especially if Sean Couturier is out for the Flyers.
Last Game Bets
Drake Batherson to register over 2.5 shots at -125. my $12.50 bet would return $22.50. – MISSED
Steven Stamkos to register over 2.5 shots at -150. My $12.5o bet would return $20.83. – VOID DUE TO STAMKOS INJURY
Anaheim to score under 2.5 goals at -134. My $10 bet would return $17.50. – MISSED
It was the first losing day of the year for us; Anaheim caught a sleeping Hurricanes team and put six on them. We risked $25 and returned $0, we are now up $43.98 (3.5 units) on the year.
