The Canucks looked primed to return to the win column taking a 3-1 lead into the third period, but two third period strikes from Daniel Sprong and Michael Rasmussen and an overtime winner from Jake Wallman extended Vancouver’s losing streak to a season high two games.

Elias Pettersson to register over 2.5 shots at -120. My $10 bet would return $18.33.

This is an interesting one. Pettersson has been cold in the shot department of late, tallying only one shot in his last three games (yes you read that right) but this is a perfect matchup for the Canucks forward to get back to firing on all cylinders.

Pettersson has registered over 2.5 shots in four of his last five games against the Capitals, so take this play at .8 units.

Ovechkin has been getting back to his old goal scoring ways, scoring in his last four games. He’s also been a monster in the shot column, hitting his over in shots in three of those four games. This is also a perfect matchup, as Ovi has hit his over 3.5 in five straight games against the Canucks.

Washington to win money line at +130. My $10 bet would return $23.

Ugh, I hate to do this as this is the hardest I have been cheering for the team in the past decade, but Vancouver is getting overvalued here at -165 on the road. The team might be shell shocked from Saturday’s loss and Washington just destroyed Boston in their own rink.
