Training camp is underway which means that the NHL season is just around the corner. To get yourself ready for that, catch up on the team’s golf adventures, some World Cup antics, and actual superhero Dave Babych!
  • Dave Babych, who is the reason we’re all here, is a hero. Mr. Babych was on a trail in North Van, heard a cry for help, and saved the day. Read all about the rescue here. It’s a great story.

He also was one of the winners at the Canucks annual Jake Milford golf tournament. What a time to be Dave Babych.
  • Speaking of the Jake Milford, the Canucks golfed for the kids and had what looked like a very fun day.
  • Nikita Tryamkin had never golfed before this but he looks like he’s having fun.

  • Young Olli Juolevi was also there, and is working on his blue steel:

  • And Jake Virtanen is making rabbit shaped shadow puppets, probably:

  • Meanwhile, some Canucks are still in Toronto for the World Cup of Hockey. Jacob Markstrom is catching candy in his mouth:
  • The Sedins are doing new, cranky Sedin things:
  • They are also doing more vintage Sedin things:
  • And Luca Sbisa is preparing to deal with Sedin things. This should be interesting.
  • The Canucks are participating in the annual Raise a Reader initiative to support childhood literacy. Alex Edler and his family love to read in both Swedish and English and this video is just about the cutest thing you’ll ever see.
If you ask @Canucks‘ Alex Edler’s daughter Emme-Rose, she’ll tell you in English and Swedish you can never have enough books. @RARVancouver pic.twitter.com/hud6sGaUj3

  • Ben Hutton suddenly became Scottish and called Erik Gudbranson a “lad” this week. Top banter from wee Ben.
  • And finally, Roberto Luongo handed over his Hockey Twitter crown to Phil Kessel this week. It was deserved.
