Tomorrow is bound to be chaotic, regardless of how much the Canucks involve themselves in the Canada Day free agent frenzy. Take today to relax, prepare, and get to know the newest members of the Canucks family.
- Before we get into the draft picks, let’s take a moment to look at former Canuck Jared McCann’s ridiculous cute puppy. Wow.
- Brock Boeser had a bad day on social media yesterday, getting Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook reminders of his embarrassing first pitch at a Vancouver Canadians game last year during prospect camp.
- Elias Pettersson is likely the most exciting addition made at the draft last weekend. Pettersson is talented offensively and is very good friends with Jonathan Dahlen. They are going to fill the talented-Swedish-duo-shaped hole that will appear in our hearts when the Sedins retire:
- Here is a recap of Pettersson’s first few hours as a Canuck. He is concerned about his selfie skills but otherwise seems excited to be a Canuck:

- Kole Lind (a classic WHL name) is from Hayley Wickenheiser’s hometown of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. Getting drafted by the Canucks is probably the second coolest thing that happened to him last Saturday, this tweet being the coolest:
- Jonah Gadjovich has that Aaron Ekblad look about him where he’s 18 but he looks and speaks like a 32-year-old father of three. Here he is checking his phone after his big moment:
- Gadjovich and Petrus Palmu, who the Canucks drafted in the sixth round, are best friends. Petrus Palmu has the best name ever.
- Canucks third round pick Michael DiPietro is joining this friendship. They can all be best friends.
- Based on this quote alone, DiPietro is awesome.
- Another Canucks draft pick of note is Thatcher Demko’s friend Jack Rathbone (not to be confused with Twilight star Jackson Rathbone). He seems like a very good kid:
