The Canucks have had a nice week both on and off the ice, reading mean (but fun) tweets, meeting minor hockey stars, and preparing for imminent milestones.
  • In case you missed it, Brandon Sutter’s goal song is stirring controversy because it’s arguably the worst goal song ever. Sutter takes the criticism in stride, though, laughing at what Canucks fans have to say about “Callin’ Baton Rouge”. As long as they don’t make him read tweets about his contract, we’re all fine.
  • Henrik Sedin is on the verge of getting his 1000th NHL point. Every time he is asked about it, he says something funnier.
  • Bo Horvat will likely be the next Canuck to wear the C on his jersey and it’s hard to not feel a little tug on the heartstrings when reading what he has to say about the current captain and his brother.

  • Sven Baertschi was mic’d up against Nashville, giving us some insight into how he supports his teammates, how familiar he is with the play of Yannick Weber, and how hungry the boys are. Sbise!
  • Jordan Subban may not play tonight, but everyone is excited that he’s here. Hunter Shinkaruk, Max Domi, and Jacob Markstrom weighed in on the call-up:
  • The Canucks surprised the Cloverdale Wildcats by ambushing their practice on Thursday afternoon. Needless to say, the kids look pretty thrilled. No hockey hug is as cute as the one in that last photo.

  • Finally, this week marked the 3-year anniversary of John Tortorella’s most memorable night as head coach of the Canucks. Tom Sestito’s finest hour.
