Babych Please – August 19th, 2016
This week marked a few big milestones for some Canucks. Jake Virtanen celebrated a birthday, Philip Larsen celebrated a new beginning, and Sven Baertschi showed us all what he looks like with the Snapchat dog filter (Spoilers: it’s very fun).
- It was Jake Virtanen’s 20th birthday this week and @VanCanucks encouraged fans to send in videos to wish him a happy birthday. They did this a little early, though, so Virtanen had to thank fans for birthday wishes twice.
The fan video includes a surprise guest star and a dog:
- Also, Winnipeg Jet Chase De Leo revealed that Jake Virtanen’s nickname is “Meat”, which is almost definitely better than “Big Country”
- Virtanen spent his last day as a teenager doing what teenagers love most – catching Pokemon.
- Sven Baertschi and his girlfriend Laura locked themselves in a dog cage last week to raise money for the BC SPCA. Bo Horvat tried to say “C’mon” but typed “Common” instead but we’ll forgive him because he seems like a nice young man
Sven posed for some great photos with some great dogs.
And here he is being a dog himself:
- Here is new Canuck Philip Larsen with a cake version of himself. I like that the cake-Larsen is wearing a toque. Larsen’s hometown seems very excited about his return to the NHL and the cake is adorable.
- Now seems like as good a time as any to bring up the fact that Erik Gudbranson has a Hatebreed lyric tattooed on his torso.
