The American Hockey League has suspended its season until May.
In a statement released Monday, the league announced its indefinite suspension may still last longer.
The league is allowing its players to their primary residences.
The statement comes after the NHL announced Monday they were hoping to resume their schedule, at the earliest, in 60 days.
Professional sports around the world have come to a halt amid concerns over the rapidly spreading COVID-19 that was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization last week.
