We just wrapped up our coverage of the morning game of the 4 Nations that saw Team Finland defeat Team Sweden with a 4-3 overtime win.
Vancouver Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen got the start en route to the Finns first victory at the 4 Nations. It wasn’t a stellar performance from Lankinen, but he surely did enough to earn the start on Monday against Team Canada. Elias Pettersson played the third most minutes of the Swedish centreman and is still searching for his first point of the tournament.
With both teams sitting at two points, they will both have a chance to make the tournament final, depending on tonight’s results. Depending on tonight’s results, they will now have a chance to control their destiny heading into Monday’s match against the Canadians.
Let’s preview tonight’s highly-anticipated match between Team Canada and Team USA.

Coverage for Team USA vs. Team Canada kicks off at 5 PM PST / 8 PM EST from the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Projected lines
Here are the projected lines for tonight, provided by Daily Faceoff.
Starting goalies
Connor Hellebuyck will get his second consecutive start for Team USA, with Jake Oettinger serving as the backup.
Jordan Binnington gets the nod again for Team Canada, with Adin Hill serving as the backup.
Players to watch
For Team USA, it’s hard not to be glued on watching the Tkachuk brothers, Matthew and Brady, playing on the top line together. In the opening game, both brothers found the back of the net twice en route to the American’s massive 6-1 win over the Finns. Their physicality and scoring touch playing alongside Jack Eichel is going to be an entertaining sight to see. This line attributed seven points for the Americans.
On the backend, Zach Werenski carried the load. He finished with three assists and manned the top power play. It was going to be interesting to see which of the American defencemen would earn the top power play spot in the absence of Quinn Hughes. But it seems like Werenski has won that job.
Sidney Crosby stole the show for Team Canada with his three primary assists in the Canadian’s 4-3 overtime win over Team Sweden. However, after registering just one assist in the opening minute of the game, Connor McDavid will look to follow in Crosby’s footsteps and try to steal the show tonight. His line, Mitch Marner and Sam Reinhart registered six shots on goal, with just Marner’s overtime goal to show for it.
All eyes will be on Cale Makar, and whether or not he will suit up in this game. Makar is dealing with an illness, but considering he played in the opening match with the same sickness and the stakes so high in a game against the rival Americans, it would be shocking to see the Avalanche defenceman sit out.
If Makar can’t go, Dallas Stars defenceman Thomas Harley was brought in as an injury replacement. Travis Sanheim draws in for the injured Shea Theodore.
