Vancouver Canucks sign prospects Will Lockwood, Marc Michaelis

The Vancouver Canucks signed prospects William Lockwood and Marc Michaelis on Thursday.

Lockwood, 21, appeared in 33 games for the University of Michigan this year scoring nine goals and 23 points. He inked a two-year deal with Vancouver.

A 2016 third-round pick of the Canucks, Lockwood was the captain of his team.

Michaelis, 24, meanwhile, played with Minnesota State University last year scoring 20 goals and 44 points in 31 games.

“Marc has exceptional offensive instincts and proven leadership,” said Jim Benning, Canucks General Manager. “We look forward to adding his skill and play-making ability to the franchise.”

The 5’10”, 185-pound forward who is a native of Manheim, Germany, represented Team Germany in the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championships, where he recorded 2 points (0-2-2) in 6 games played.
