With Erik Gudbranson sidelined by a possible wrist injury suffered in Tuesday’s loss in Carolina and Troy Stecher noticeably absent from practice this morning, Canucks coach Willie Desjardins alluded to this recall in his media availability.
No Stecher at Canucks practice either. Brendan Gaunce taking reps as the extra defenceman in drills.

Desjardins confirmed Stecher’s absence was injury related. The nature of Stecher’s ailment remains a mystery, but Desjardins went so far as to describe the timeline for his return as day-to-day.
Since joining the Comets in October, Pedan has three points (two goals and one assist) in 19 games. Pedan’s yet to play a game this season, but in 13 games last campaign the lumbering Lithuanian was a 45% Corsi For and pointless. To Pedan’s credit, he spent much of that season playing on the wing, a position he’s never played in his professional career.
We’ll provide updates on Stecher’s status as they’re made available. The Canucks play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets tomorrow for a matinee affair at 1PM PST.
Wasn`t the `Lumbering Lithuanian` credited with `fastest skater` and `hardest shot` at the Canucks skills competition?
He’s trying to set the scene to tear him down, either that or, more probably, forgetting or ignoring facts that don’t fit his narrative.
I don’t think ‘Lumbering Lithuanian’ was so much as sleight on his skating/shot ability so much as ‘lumbering’ meaning his sheer size, soo…
Look it up, Dictionary.com says “to move clumsily or heavily, usually from great or ponderous bulk”.
I’d say that Woj is bang on with his observation.
One of the problems this blogger has from time to time is using words of which he really doesn’t know the definition, or else the inaccuracies don’t matter to him.
Either that or it was an alliteration for artistic purposes.

Among the several definitions for lumbering, here is one of them: moving with a rumbling sound
He’s big and physical and fights. That’s literally all I was trying to say. I’m actually quite fond of Pedan…
Lets hope the big guy gets to play.
Andrea Pedan can do everything or even more than Gubby!
1.5 years younger than Guddy,similar game/style.
Difference being Guddy saw more NHL game action as an 18 year old than Pedan has at 23 year of age.
I am all for Pedan excelling and giving the .org more options and assets.
