What needs to happen is the earth has to shift on a 90 degree angle so we can join the Eastern Conference! This will be the only way the Oilers will ever make the playoffs!

    Fire Lowe, McTavish, and Eakins!!!

Oilers needed 2 centers before the season started it was obvious MacT did nothing

Oilers needed a goalie again nothing from Mact

Oilers need a couple of top 4 D-men- Can’t blame anyone for that nearly impossible

MacT has put a poor product on the ice.

As much as I hate the smug look of Eakins and rookie type mistakes as coach . I blame MacT

    Oiler Domination To Follow

Dreger reports the Oilers are looking at trading Perron…

Not surprised considering his comments the other night- questioning the direction of the team in the media…

Oilers need to run the team with one question in mind… Is this what a playoff team would do…

Run with one nhl Center…. No

Run with 2 career backup goalies…. No

Run with a coach with no nhl experience… No

Run with Shultz as your #1 D…. No

This team needs to start acting like a playoff team, management down…

Finally, I agree with something you write.

      All this. I’d add:

Coaching a style that doesn’t suit the brand of players on the team.

The team’s defensive structure is horribly passive.

This team needs to make quicker decisions and safer plays in their own zone and the neutral zone.

Aside from the wagon line & DP, EVERYONE needs to be stronger on the boards.

Management needs to apologize to it’s fan base. Not congratulate their patience.

Dreger just tweeted Perron on trade block for top end center. Bahahahaha!!!!!!!! That is sooo funny on so many levels! Perron speaks out, trade him like they did Smid for speaking out! Perron for a high end center???? In what universe can you pull that trade off. Once again, in typical Oiler fashion, over valuing roster players. F-R-A-C-K-I-N. J-O-K-E!!!!!!!

I think after the late 3rd period push last night they’ve got it figured out. Anybody else notice the emotion and heart and effort they showed celebrating the goal to make it 1-7.

  • Admiral Ackbar

Perron trade ? Typical smokescreen and diversion, make up a trade story for the only top 6 forward with any grit and willingness to get dirty. Funny how this comes out the day when there should be a public tire fire to draw attention and call for Eakins head.

      • mk

Maybe but I doubt Perron would ask for a trade.

I just think the management is so depserate not to trade any of the “core” they would trade one of the dirty/gritty guys who genuinely cares. Which is pretty dumb if you ask me.

According to TSN Darren Dreger on Twitter,

Among Oilers trade targets…David Perron. Told MacTavish is asking for a top center in return. Edmtn gm obviously working phones. #TSN

David, How dare you spoke out against the coaches and the team?

the first might do it for many teams like the Falmes who could give up a “good” center like Backlund, but definitely not any team that actually have a legit high end first line center.

Now then, RNH, Eberle and the 1st overall might at least start the discussion for legit 1C’s.

Toews, Taveras, Gestalf, Malkin, Bergeron, Stamkos, Crosby, Girioux, Thorton, Datsyuk, Sequinn, McKinnen…

none of these guys move even for RNH, Eberle plus this years first overall… except maybe Thorton.

Now, trade with the Flames for Backlund, you get a really good 2C that drives possession and plays the toughs, and get rid of a player who is too honest to play in the mess up north.

Of course, if the Oilers actually ship Perron out for speaking the truth, you might see a bumrush of players all of a sudden start saying it like it is.
