Your Trade Ideas Go To A Vote

By J.D. Burke
Feb 27, 2016, 11:00 ESTUpdated:

Almost a month ago now I posted an article asking for your most reasonable and well thought out trade deadline suggestions going into the February 29th trade deadline. It was done as part of a contest, wherein ten suggestions would be chosen for voting and the chance to win a $50.00 gift card to Violent Gentlemen clothing.
The days of dreaming for Rick Nash with Mason Raymond, Keith Ballard and a second are long gone. This time around it required real effort.
After wading through the 42 (!!!) submissions, I’ve grabbed the nine best, so that you, the people, could vote on a worthy victor. Unfortunately, so many of you submitted ideas that had prominent rentals like Radim Vrbata and Dan Hamhuis going to Montreal. Hard to take those seriously a month later, especially given the Canadiens status as sellers at this year’s deadline.
Unfortunately, realism was the name of this game. Fret not though, cause the ten options that made it through are all worth a gander in their own right!
Your Best Trade Ideas!
If I missed your suggestions for whatever reason, my apologies. As things currently stand, these were the ten best ones made available to me. The voting period will end by midnight on Monday. Get your votes in by then and make your voice heard!
