The season begins in earnest today, so as you might expect, the biggest story of the past 24 hours revolves around the popular online shooter-survival game Fortnite. 
Yes, you read that correctly.
Bo Horvat made waves yesterday afternoon during an interview on TSN 1040 yesterday afternoon when he confirmed that the team had banned video games on the road:
“[It]’s definitely a no-go on the road. No more Fortnite. No more bringing video games on the road. It’s strictly team meals, team dinners, and hanging out with the guys. So we put an end to that… In my opinion, there’s better ways to spend time on the road whether it’s handing with the guys in the room, or going to a movie with the guys. There’s a lot of cool cities we visit and to be cooped up in your room all night, playing Fornite, is a waste of your time.”

Here’s what the Canucks should do: Don’t panic.
The Canucks have outshot their opponents 201 to 168 in total, and have not been outshot in any game. 4.5% shooting percentages don’t last forever. Be patient. It’ll come around.
I am Ted:
Canucks don’t have a quick fix option here. They need to deal veteran assets when possible and accumulate prospects and picks. They have enough vets so dealing a few won’t be the end of the world. Edler and Tanev will have a market. Maybe move Gagner for a late pick. Beagle was a pointless addition but he creates a log jam at centre so deal him or Sutter (similar players). The big accomplishment would be if you could deal Eriksson – take a 6th….whatever.

I would ask why Beagle and Schaller were added while admiring their 0/14 and 1/14 corsi for/against from last night.
How would Gaunce and Archibald be any worse at a fraction of the cost?
This management team has been at this for 5 off seasons now. Sputtering, failing, making excuses and lying. They get a few nice picks due to their incompetence and the cheerleaders gush. Meanwhile, the same meathead mistakes continue to happen, such as the signings mentioned.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You can not win a cup continuously taking one step forward and one step back.

This is a rebuild. Stay the course. This is the time for Goldy and Leipsic to shine….. or not. Let’s see if during the season other Utica prospects can show they can take the next steps.
There are not quick fixes. No trades. No UFAs. That was Guddy and Eriksson in 2016, and don’t want a repeat of that.

Not sure. The canucks seem to have serious structural issues in their play right now. I don’t know if that’s Green not getting them on the same page, Green’s systems being garbage, the players being lazy, the players not understanding their roles which makes them look lazy when they might not be…? Who knows.
But what I do know is this, so far, looks much worse than last year. Last year, they were defensively bad, but at least the pushed play at times and created organized offensive chances. Even in last year’s preseason they were showing some good jump and getting on teams. This year it’s just a huge mess. Everywhere on the ice.
Hockey Bunker:
If you can’t score pick lines you think should have chemistry and stick with them for 10 games. If no better, change it up and do it again. In the meantime check like crazy. And match skill and characteristics. No point putting fast players with slugs. Finally work on special teams, win that battle and just try to make the rest even. Oh and fabulous goaltending is a must, but that will take prayer.

Trade Markstrom, ride Nilsson as the starter to a 31st-overall finish, and draft Jack Hughes.
