Better late than never, right? That’s the underlying philosophy for this week’s What Would You Do Wednesday, brought to you by the day Thursday.
This week, I’m talking about Brock Boeser. Who isn’t? Boeser has seven points over a five-game point streak, six of which are goals, including two straight games against the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins with a pair of goals. This run puts Boeser in sole possession of the NHL’s rookie scoring lead with 21 points in 19 games.
Meanwhile, Clayton Keller, who’s held the rookie scoring lead for the majority of the season is one point back with five games in hand. That said, Keller is working with far less than Boeser and has a lower shooting percentage.
So, what would you do if faced with this Calder quandary? Who do you think has the inside track on the Calder Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s best rookie. Try to take your homer glasses off for this one, tough as that may be.
Last week I asked: What would be your ideal power play configuration?
crofton:
It worked pretty good against LA. I have been saying for quite awhile to put Boeser in the “Ovie” spot. You could try Pouliot instead of Edler, his creds say he should be pretty good there. Edler to the second unit, Stecher and he could be interchangeable. Otherwise, get Virtanen back in with Burmistrov sitting.
