Welcome back to the final edition of WDYTT 2021, the only hockey column on the internet that doesn’t break itself into two halves like the NHL season.
Speaking of the end of the year, it’s here. Unless you’re reading this article really late, you’re currently experiencing the final days of 2021 (and hopefully some Vancouver Canucks hockey) and no doubt already looking ahead to what promises to be one heck of a 2022.
This author already wrote about the many, many great things that Canucks fans can look forward to through the next calendar year. But that’s just one person’s broad opinion, and we’d appreciate if you wouldn’t mind narrowing it down a little bit for us from there.
This week, we’re mirroring last week’s question by asking you:

What are you most looking forward to in 2022?

(As it relates to the Vancouver Canucks, of course)

Let us know in the comments section.

What was your favourite Canucks memory of the year 2021?

Your favourite memories are listed below!
Kunlun Red Star:
Favorite Canuck moment of 2021 was during Boudreau’s coaching debut, the 4-0 win over Los Angeles. From the opening whistle, it was obvious this was not the same team as under Green. They were forechecking aggressively, especially on the PK. The special teams were changed up and different personnel were being used on the PK. We saw goals from players like Lammikko, and Brock Boeser broke a 14-game goalless drought and started shooting the puck more. Not sure if it was after the Boeser goal but at some point, the excitement in the building began to grow and fans began to chant “BRUCE, THERE IT IS.”
arjay:
Hard to beat the (OT?) win against Toronto after being gutted by covid and an insane schedule.

Ragnarok Ouroboros:
It may be unkind, but for me it was when Benning was let go. He was getting better as a GM, but I was just getting tired of him trading away draft picks and signing players that never play (Sutter, Ferland, Eriksson, Spooner, Gagner, Baertschi to name some). It will be nice to have a GM that has a plan and sticks with it. I’m hopeful for the future.
J-Canuck:
The comeback win versus Columbus to extend the winning streak. Being down early and coming back through effort hasn’t been seen since 2020 bubble.
Holly Wood:
Bruce, there it is.
Somewhere south of Blaine:
The comeback was the best game this season.
A close second is beating Boston!
Go Canucks Go!
neal:
The very best memory was the day Benning, Green, Weisbrod, and Baumgartner were fired.

A River Named Curt:
The moment the jersey hit the ice, and ownership had no choice but to act to save the franchise.
I am Ted:
Finally seeing Benning and his crew along with Green and Baumer go. Overdue, and lots of damage has been done. I’m hoping Rutherford can put in some better personnel and actually have the AHL team develop some players, among other improvements.
UKCanuck:
Beating the Leafs the first game after the COVID outbreak.
Craig Gowan:
The hiring of Bruce Boudreau and the six Canucks wins that followed.
Atlas:
Oh, low hanging fruit. Easy one for me!!
December 5th, 2021. The day Francesco Aquilini finally realized what EVERYONE else had…
Cageyvet:
(Winner of the author’s weekly award for eloquence)
Tyler Myers hitting Duncan Keith. In a dark time, that was a ray of sunshine.
