<p>Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced on Thursday morning that the club has signed Sammy Blais to an AHL contract, inviting him to training camp on a PTO.</p>

<p>Blais, 28, is coming off a disappointing season after playing just 53 games, scoring one goal and six assists for seven points with a minus-11 rating. The former St. Louis Blue has struggled to maintain an everyday spot in the lineup. Blais has yet to play a full season, and he only has 27 goals and 72 points in 257 NHL games.</p>
<p>Offence isn&#8217;t a strong suit from Blais, outside of an impressive nine-goal, 20-point 2022-2023 season. However, the Canadian winger makes his presence known physically.
