Vancouver Canucks Reassign Mike Zalewski

With the return of Alexandre Burrows and Derek Dorsett imminent, the Canucks reassigned Mike Zalewski to the Utica Comets.
The Canucks recalled Zalewski towards the end of last week in the wake of mounting injuries in their forward ranks. Though Zalewski was with the club for two games, he only played in Saturday night’s game against the Washington Capitals. Zalewski was a -1 with a 28.5% Corsi For in just over eight minutes for the Canucks in that game.
Based on this roster transaction and the lines in today’s practice, it’s safe to assume one of either Dorsett or Burrows will return to the Canucks lineup in time for Wednesday’s tilt with the Montreal Canadiens.
Per the Utica Comets Twitter account, Zalewski has already joined the club and will play in their game tomorrow against the St. John’s Ice Caps. Zalewski’s now played in six NHL contests, all with the Vancouver Canucks, and scored two points, both assists, for his efforts.
