Vancouver Canucks Assistant General Manager Cammi Granato has a new title.

On Friday morning, the club announced that Granato is taking on a new role ahead of the 2026-27 season. Granato, who has served as an AGM for the Canucks since February 2022 when Jim Rutherford initially hired her, is sticking around under the Sedin-Johnson-led management group, but will now own the title of “Senior Amateur Advisor.”

“I am excited to have Cammi move to the position of Senior Amateur Advisor,” said GM Ryan Johnson in a statement put out by the Canucks. “Cammi is a quality person who knows a lot about the inner workings of our organization. She has built-in relationships and connections with our amateur staff that will help us continue to do good work in that area.”

“After taking some time to reflect on things, I feel this is the perfect time to transition into a new role with the Canucks,” said Granato. “I have had some very thoughtful and meaningful discussions with RJ and my family about my position within the organization. Helping on the amateur side is something I am extremely passionate about, and I am thrilled to continue working with our hockey operations department on that front. I have great confidence in our front office leadership group and love their vision and the direction they are taking with the team.”

Prior to joining the Canucks, Granato served as a Vancouver-based NHL scout for the Seattle Kraken. She is married to longtime NHL analyst and former player Ray Ferraro.

Prior to her front office career, Granato established herself as one of the most celebrated pioneers of women’s hockey during her playing days. As a star forward at Providence College and Concordia University, she went on to captain the United States women’s national team, leading them to a gold medal at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, where she also scored the first-ever Olympic goal for the US women’s program. Over a decorated international playing career, Granato also captained Team USA to an Olympic silver medal in 2002, a World Championship title in 2005, and eight World Championship silver medals, finishing as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 343 points in 205 games. Throughout her playing career, she earned numerous honours, including the Lester Patrick Trophy in 2007 and, in 2010, the distinction of being one of the first two women ever inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
