Despite the slow start to the season with just five points in his first 12 games, Pettersson has quickly climbed the ranks on the Canucks in points. He currently sits second on the team – trailing just Quinn Hughes (29) – with 23 points (seven goals and 16 assists). During the club’s recent six-game road trip, Pettersson took the team under his wing, posting points in five of the six games, totalling 10 points, and four multi-point games.
Pettersson signed an eight-year, $92.8 million extension in Vancouver late last season, paying him $11.6 million annually.
Stay tuned for more announcements as Team Canada and Team USA are still to announce their rosters later this afternoon.
