The Vancouver Canucks announced their unveiling of &#8220;an impressive package of Phase II building improvements&#8221; for Rogers Arena in a press release on Thursday morning.
&#8220;Our fans and guests expect an outstanding experience when they step inside Rogers Arena and these investments by ownership in digital and hospitality innovation reinforce our commitment to ensuring our facilities rank among the best in the entertainment industry,&#8221; said Michael Doyle, President, Canucks Sports and Entertainment, Business Operations in a press release from the team. &#8220;We are fortunate to have a fantastic location in the heart of our city and the continued investment in the facility will ensure it remains an entertainment centre all of British Columbia can be proud to call home.&#8221;
The big news in the press release had to be about the new video board, which is almost four times larger than the previous screen. The new video board sounds impressive, with a high refresh rate of 3840Hz and a stronger contract ratio that will result in a clearer image and more vibrant colours. The new video board is also curved, allowing fans to view the screen better from all angles in the arena.

We were also told that there will be new boards, glass, dashers, penalty boxes, and benches for the upcoming season. A 60-person restaurant is under construction at ice level between the dressing rooms which will give those fans a chance to watch the Canucks and visiting teams make their way from the dressing room to the ice.
Another tidbit was that the replacement of all seats in the upper and lower bowls will take place during the summer of 2024. It’s finally time for the burgundy seats to be kicked to the curb.
More is to come when the video board is complete as the Canucks have planned a media availability about the in-arena improvements once the new video board is completed.
