Vancouver and Victoria win bid to host 2019 World Juniors

Get excited Vancouver and Victoria hockey fans. The glorious World Junior tournament that dominates Canadian headlines just as much as Boxing day sales, is coming to Vancouver and Victoria in 2019.
The medal round and the real exciting games will likely take place at Rogers Arena and Victoria will likely take on a big portion of the round robin. This is all speculation of course as many fans minds are more focused on this months upcoming 2017 World Junior tournament.
This isn’t the first time that Vancouver will be a host-city for the World Junior tournament. Partnered with Kelowna and Kamloops, Vancouver hosted the 2005-2006 under-20 tournament where Canada defeated Russia for Gold.
Another tandem of cities that was known to be in the running for the tournament was Winnipeg and Saskatchewan. To the good fortunes of Vancouver hockey fans, there bid was unsuccessful.
This tournament may seem a ways away, but that shouldn’t take away any excitement from the tournament. It’s some of the best hockey you can watch and the pride surrounding each countries best youngsters is what makes the holiday tournament a must-watch.
Besides, the World Juniors always makes for some pretty crazy memories.
