Thatcher Demko named Hockey East Goalie of the Month (again)

Dec 2, 2015, 21:39 ESTUpdated:
While fans continue to debate whether Ryan Miller or Jacob Markstrom is the present answer in goal, Thatcher Demko continues to appear like the obvious option for the future. For the second consecutive month, the Boston College goaltender and Canucks draft pick has been named the Goalie of the Month in the NCAA’s Hockey East conference.
While Demko wasn’t as hot in November as he was in October, that’s only because his October numbers were at borderline cheat-code levels. Demko, a native of San Diego, California, posted a 7-0-0 record while stopping 187 of 197 shots against; good for a 0.949 save percentage.
So far this year, Demko is second in College Hockey in both GAA (1.23) and SV% (0.953). He’s played in all of BC’s thirteen games, winning twelve of them, and has six shutouts.
Demko was also named Hockey East Player of the Week on November 9th, and Defensive Player of the Week on October 25th.
Boston College’s next game is on December 5th against Northeastern.
