Vasily Podkolzin isn’t the only Vancouver Canuck to become a dad for the first time this summer.
Thatcher and Lexie Demko welcomed their son Dawson this week and Lexie shared a post on Friday afternoon showing new dad Demko walking out with his newborn.
@lexlexdemko on IGThe Demko’s have been in Vancouver for a little while now as we’ve heard about Thatcher getting some skating time with certain goalie coaches.
Demko can now rely on the older dads on the team like father of three, J.T. Miller, and father of two, Tyler Myers. With Demko locked in for the foreseeable future and Podkolzin likely landing an extension after this season as he becomes an RFA, the two summer of 2023 firstborns will be able to grow up around the Canucks.
We expect to see goalies reporting to Scotiabarn in Burnaby soon to get to work with Canucks goaltending coach Ian Clark and those summer workouts are about to start cranking up with many players returning to Vancouver over the past week — including Miller, Myers, and Ilya Mikheyev, to name a few.
Now, go enjoy a nice cocktail, Lexie. You deserve it and then three more.
