Taylor Fedun signs with Buffalo Sabres

Jul 1, 2016, 12:29 EDTUpdated:
Amidst the free agent frenzy, Taylor Fedun has signed with the Buffalo Sabres this morning.
This isn’t surprising as the Canucks now have 8 defenceman signed for their NHL roster, and appear to be going with a youth movement in Utica.
Fedun saw one game with the Canucks this past season, but posted 33 points in 63 games with the Utica Comets. He finished the season as second highest scoring defenceman behind Jordan Subban.
Fedun will head to Buffalo with hopes of finally making the leap to the NHL after coming so close a few years ago with the Edmonton Oilers. He unfortunately broke his leg in a race for an icing, which ultimately set him back and arguably was one of the main reasons for the rule change.
I’ve always been a fan of Fedun’s game, and wish him nothing but the best in Buffalo.
Expect the Canucks to target a defenceman of similar stature to help support their prospect in Utica.
