But on day’s like today when the playing group isn’t skating, or sometimes when the team is on the road, we have to improvise a bit, and that’s exactly what we’re doing today.
Tonight, the Vancouver Canucks will face off against the Seattle Kraken on the heels of a 2-1 overtime loss in Edmonton on Wednesday night. There were plenty of positives to take away from that game, and Canucks fans will be hoping for more of the same tonight in Seattle.
<h1>Who to expect in the Canucks&#8217; lineup</h1>
We&#8217;re still one game away from seeing what Rick Tocchet has numerously stated will be very close to the Canucks&#8217; opening night roster. Tocchet has made it clear the Canucks are going to be trying to use games four through six of the preseason to ensure they&#8217;re ready to hit the ground on opening night on October 11.
Tonight though, we have a pretty good idea of who we&#8217;re going to see based on the line rushes we saw during Tuesday&#8217;s practice at UBC, and who made the trip to Edmonton yesterday.
Here is the lineup we&#8217;re expecting to see based on those two key pieces of info:

Again, we don&#8217;t know if those lines are exactly correct, but those are the names we&#8217;d expect to see (hear?) tonight and where we&#8217;d expect them to slot in.
One key thing to watch is if Vasily Podkolzin gets a shot with JT Miller and Brock Boeser in a preseason game. Podkolzin was in that spot for all of training camp, but after a lacklustre performance in the Canucks&#8217; 10-0 loss to the Calgary Flames on Sunday night, it looks like Phil Di Giuseppe is going to be given a shot in that spot. Since he&#8217;ll be in the lineup tonight, it would be great to see Podkolzin play well enough to get a look with those two at some point.
This game won&#8217;t be televised, but you can catch Brendan Batchelor&#8217;s radio call on Sportsnet 650 tonight and we&#8217;ll have coverage of the game tonight on CanucksArmy! If you&#8217;re in Seattle, you can catch the TV broadcast on KONG from Climate Pledge Arena!
UPDATE: The Canucks have announced their playing roster, so we now expect the lineup to look slightly different! The notable difference between the lineup we projected earlier is that Conor Garland, Christian Wolanin, Sheldon Dries, Max Sasson, Arshdeep Bains, and Dakota Joshua are all getting another shot after playing last night in Edmonton.
So the lineup could instead look something like this:
