PENTICTON, BC — As we noted in our first edition of Scenes from Morning Skate for the new season, it is a very busy Vancouver Canucks game day!

Not only will the club play their first preseason game tonight in Seattle vs. the Kraken, but they will also welcome their fans to the South Okanagan Events Centre in beautiful Penticton for a scrimmage at 10:50 AM Pacific.

The Canucks tweaked their line combos for tonight’s game in Seattle from what we saw through two days of training camp. With Jonathan Lekkerimäki part of the Seattle playing group, we anticipate that Brock Boeser will slide back up to play with Liam Öhgren and Marco Rossi (Lekkerimäki was skating on this line instead of Boeser through two days of camp) for Team White.

Zeev Buium and Luke Schenn look like they’ll form the top defence pairing for Team White.

For Team Blue, we’d anticipate a top line of DeBrusk-Pettersson-Karlsson. With Max Sasson headed to Seattle, might Brooks Rogowski get a chance to centre a line with Drew O’Connor and Brendan Gallagher as his wingers? We’ll find out soon!

Jamie Oleksiak and Filip Hronek will form Team Blue’s top defensive pairing.
