Since his team was <a href="https://canucksarmy.com/news/vancouver-canucks-prospect-jonathan-lekkerimaki-eliemated-shl-playoffs-next">eliminated from playoff contention on Monday</a>, it’s been a “wait and see” period as we anticipated his next move.
On Friday morning, Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali &#8212; The Team reported that Lekkerimäki will leave Sweden and head to Vancouver.

The 19-year-old is coming off a stellar SHL season, in which his 19 goals ranked fourth league-wide and his 31 points led all U23 players.
After contributing a primary assist that led to a victory in game one, Örebro failed to score over their next two matches, eliminating them from the best-of-three playoff series.
Lekkerimäki is anticipated to make a permanent move next year and is expected to compete for a roster spot out of camp in Vancouver.
With that said, the new Canucks regime has shown a commitment to its developmental plan, showing a willingness to follow the proper steps on the developmental ladder.
