Scrimmages usually consist of two 20-minute periods, with a brief intermission in between and a potential shootout to follow. That’s when we might see a goaltender switch, as well as the extra defence pairings work into the mix.
UPDATE: It appears the two periods will be a running 25 minute clock.
There are a handful of skaters skating on the second sheet of ice in Penticton, but those are mostly skaters from Group C. The only three skaters CanucksArmy saw on the second sheet who are listed on a scrimmage roster were MacEachern, Lee and Medevdev.
Earlier this morning, we published “6 players to keep an eye on in today’s Canucks training camp scrimmage”, with Braeden Cootes, Tom Willander, Jiri Patera, Viltali Kravtsov, Linus Karlsson and Elias Pettersson (D) as skaters to keep an eye on. Be sure to check back on that for details on why and what to watch for!
Following the scrimmage, we will have an Instant Reaction and Takeaways session. Stay tuned!
