As the temperature begins to drop in Vancouver, it reminds us all that hockey season is almost here. The Canucks held the 2025 edition of the Jake Milford Charity Golf Tournament a week ago today, and while that always gives us some topics to chew on — Elias Pettersson adding 13 pounds was the big one this year — on the whole, it was a quiet week last week.
That won’t be the case this week.

Wednesday, September 17th

On Wednesday morning, Canucks management will meet with the media for the first time this season. How do they feel about their offseason work and coming up short on their search for a centre? Are there any players who won’t be ready for the start of training camp? Will they add any players on PTOs? These are just some of the questions we’ll have answers to by Wednesday morning. And of course, there’s so much more that management will be asked about.
From there, the Canucks (and Tyson Cole, Jeff Paterson, Jacob Lazare and I, for those who care) will head up to Penticton to get settled in for training camp at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Thursday, September 18th

On Thursday, camp officially kicks off. Like Christmas morning for hockey geeks, it’s our first chance to see the 2025-26 Canucks prepare for what could turn out to be one of the most important in franchise history. Line combos, camp focuses, and so much more, this is one of my favourite days of the year. Last year, the Canucks proclaimed they’d work on improving their rush offence. While that didn’t really materialize, it was still interesting to hear the club dive into some X’s and O’s talk. With Adam Foote set for his first season as Canucks head coach, it will be even more interesting to see what changes — if any — Foote wants to implement on his team’s systems.
We’ll have a live blog, takeaways, live updates, and so much more not only right here on CanucksArmy.com, but also on all of our social channels. You won’t want to miss it.

Friday, September 19th

Day two of training camp is always an interesting one. A lot of times, it’s more of the same of what we saw on day one, but there’s also going to be new things to dive in on. Could we start to see what the Canucks’ preseason playing groups will look like on this day? Who will be playing with Elias Pettersson, and who will be playing with Filip Chytil on the Canucks’ top two forward lines? Could we get a look at the power play?

Saturday, September 20th

This is the big day. Unlike last year, the Canucks aren’t waiting until the last day of training camp to have their scrimmage. That’s no doubt thanks — at least in part — to the club’s first preseason game coming on Sunday night in Seattle against the Kraken. How will the scrimmage lines look? Could one side be the group that will head down to Seattle on Sunday, or will we see a mix after the scrimmage? No matter what, we’ll have that scrimmage well-covered with updates, takeaways, and more.

Sunday, September 21st

Last season, the Canucks used the last day of training camp to get some work in with their special teams. Will they do the same this year? It’s believed that Sunday will serve as a morning skate of sorts for the group that’s heading down to Seattle for the club’s first preseason game of the year, but what will the extras get up to that morning? The excitement is palpable!
