Summer might almost be over but it’s never too late to start the draft talk! This week, Jeremy Davis kicked off the preliminary rankings for the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Apart from that, it was a quiet week as has been usual for the past few months. Some NCAA free agents, most notably Will Butcher and Alex Kerfoot, became free to talk to any NHL teams they wish to pursue. Kerfoot met with the Canucks, but Butcher reportedly won’t be.
