The injury bug has made an early appearance for the Canucks with Loui Eriksson out.
No mention of exactly when the injury occured but Eriksson did block a shot in the third period and clearly felt the effects then. Depending on how things go, it’s fair to assume he is out for the remainder of the pre-season and could miss some regular season action with the season-opener being 13 days away.
Eriksson joins Antoine Roussel, who has now not skated for the past two days, and Wacey Hamilton (shoulder) on the sidelines after two pre-season games.
There had been hopes that the Canucks would be able to overcome their bad luck on the injury front but have already felt the effects of it early this year. There was much discourse about the Canucks blocking their youth in the NHL but if the injuries continue to pile up, the organization may have more rookies in the opening night lineup than they originally expected.
