Henrik Sedin Reaches 1000 Career Points

Jan 20, 2017, 23:29 ESTUpdated:

Henrik Sedin has become the first Canuck, and 85th player to reach 1000 points in the NHL.
On a goal in the 2nd period against Roberto Luongo, Henrik moved into the 1000 point club. Daniel with the assist, as it was meant to be.
Drafted along with his twin brother Daniel in the 1999 NHL Draft, Henrik Sedin grew into the player we all hoped he could be. The twins were greeted with open arms but faced plenty of criticism throughout the beginning of their careers. However, with help from Mattias Ohlund, Markus Naslund, Brendan Morrison, Trevor Linden, among others, the Twins grew into top tier players.
Henrik really grew into his own during the 2009-10, when faced with the adversity of losing his brother to injury, Henrik thrived by not only keeping up his pace, but exceeding it by adding his first career hat trick, and he scored 7 goals in 7 games leading up to Daniel’s return. He ended the season with 112 points, by polishing off the campaign with a four-assist final game catapulting him into the league lead. 112 points is a team record and earned Henrik the Hart Trophy.
Following this season, Henrik took over as captain from Roberto Luongo, becoming the 13th captain in team history. He led the team to the Stanley Cup Final, and helped Daniel reach the scoring title, becoming the first set of brothers to win the Art Ross trophy in consecutive years.
Known as an assist machine, a large of Henrik’s 1000 points have come from the form of a pass. Having played along goal scorers such as his brother, Anson Carter and Alex Burrows, Henrik has consistently been surrounded with scoring talent.
He will surely join the numbers in the rafters one day.
