Though it was originally expected the Sedins would make a decision in the off-season in regards to their future, they ultimately decided to make the announcement prior to the end of the season in order to give fans an opportunity to say goodbye.

We also want to share these games with our families, friends, teammates, coaches, trainers, staff and everyone at the Canucks who have supported us. You&#8217;ll have two more chances to watch the Canucks in Vancouver. The Canucks play at home against Vegas tomorrow and against Arizona on Thursday. The Sedins will then play their final NHL games in Edmonton on Saturday to close out the season.
Originally drafted second and third overall in 1999 after some ridiculous wheeling and dealing by Brian Burke, the Sedins became franchise icons in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Henrik leads the Canucks in all-time points with 1068 and Daniel is a close second with 1038. Both jerseys will certainly be retired as no Canuck should ever wear No. 33 or No. 22 again.
