Yesterday I wrote about the Canucks recent struggles, today Cam Charron fleshed the topic out more thoroughly over at Nucksmisconduct.

Daniel Wagner at Pass it to Bulis laments that the Kesler-Vigneault blood-feud never actually raised itself to the heated levels of a "spat."

Gordon Macintyre praises the newfound effectiveness of the second power-play unit. On a vaguely related note: one of my pet peeves is when teams use lumbering defenseman in net presence roles with the man-advantage. John Scott isn’t going to become the next Luc Robitallie just because he’s gigantic. It seems to me that using Burrows on the point is, to some extent, the inverse of that common tactical error. Burrows is one of the best net-presence players in the league, and I have to think that his talents are largely wasted on the point. Alain Vigneault knows what he’s doing, but I can’t help but think that if you’re going to convert one Canucks forward to play the right side point on the power-play, doesn’t the guy with the massive, accurate, right-handed slap-shot make more sense in that role than Burrows does?

Trevor Linden is the only Canuck who makes the list for now, though both Sedin twins will join him at some point in the 2013-14 season (barring injury). Hopefully by the time they do, they’ll have little red Stanley Cups beside their photos!
