Ed Willes describes the scene at Rick Rypien’s funeral, and talks to Mike Gillis about the teams opportunity to tell Rypien’s story, and shed light on mental illness.
BarryMelroseRocks.com blogger "Loser Domi" bravely talks about Rypien’s mental illness in the context of her own battles with depression. I’m very much convinced that our "closed" cultural attitude as regards depression is a major stumblingblock in the effort to treat the illness – so this is important stuff.
Lil’ Wayne shouted out Rick Rypien at a recent concert in Montreal. Well played Weezy, well played.

Copper and Blue takes a look at the Futures Market for next years Cup Winner. The Canucks are favoured, but they’re a terrible value bet at 6 to 1. I like the Sharks at 12-1, the Rangers at 40-1 and Buffalo at 30-1 (as value-bets, not as actual cup winners).
This five year old kid has memorized the call of the Canucks-Blackhawks game seven overtime… I’m impressed that he properly pronounced Hjalmarrsson and also, by how much better he is at this play-by-play thing than Jim Hughson:
