Due to popular demand Draft Street is back on the Nations. We ran some Free Rolls for DS last year and got some really good feedback, so we approached them about getting this going again for us again this year. They finally acquiesced when I threatened to send Wanye to their house with a bullhorn and a clown costume.
For those unfamiliar, Draft Street here’s some background on the Free Roll:
1. Sign up at Draftstreet for your FREE Entry into a $500 NHL contest
2. Pick your favorite NHL players
3. Get Paid $$$$
Draft Street is a new way to play fantasy hockey that turns the season long grind into quick hitting one night leagues. And the best part is that you can win cash every single day. You draft a team for one night and get paid out as soon as the games end. DraftStreet.com is at the forefront of this new trend in the fantasy world and is giving us a great promotion: a FREE one-day fantasy league with $500 in prizes.
This free contest will be salary-cap style drafting where everyone tries to assemble the best team out of the available players. You will have a $100,000 budget to build a team of:
2 LW’s, 2 RW’s, 2 Center’s, 2 Defensive players, 1 Goalie, and a flex player.
Each NHL player has been allocated a price based on their expected fantasy performance. You can adjust your roster up until the contest starts on Saturday October 12th at 2:00pm ET/12:00 pm MT at which time your rosters will lock. After that you can track your team’s performance versus others in the league via Draft Street’s real time, Live Scoreboard.

My brother and I have been regularly entering teams in small bet pools since the season started and I can say I’ve already won about $70, so it’s not one of those deals where it’s impossible to win and cash out. I’ll definitely be entering a team in each and every Free Roll we get going with DS this year too.
Sign up and give it a whirl. And of course, make sure to check your picks against roster and goalie updates over at Daily Faceoff. I’ve found DF to be invaluable in my DS roster building so far this year.
