Derrick Pouliot has found a new home for the 2019-20 season
At this moment, other than the fact that it is two-way, there is no information about the terms of the deal.
Like Brendan Gaunce, Pouliot become a UFA because the Canucks opted to not tender a qualifying offer to him before relinquishing his rights.
The Canucks had acquired Pouliot prior to the 2017-18 season in a trade that saw them send Andrey Pedan and a 4th round pick the other way. Pouliot appeared in 133 games for the Canucks over the past two seasons scoring three goals in each season and then posting 19 assists in 2017-18 and nine more last year.
It was clear that Pouliot wasn’t going to be a part of the group going forward before the Canucks even opted to not provide him with a qualifying offer.
He will head to St Louis and battle for a depth position or find his way to the AHL for the first time as a waiver eligile player.
