Daniel ‘Thug Life’ Sedin Takes Puck to the Face

By J.D. Burke
Jan 4, 2016, 22:28 ESTUpdated:
The Canucks have been unfathomably snakebitten this season, but especially so where injuries are concerned. As of the moment they are without Brandon Sutter, Luca Sbisa, Ryan Miller, Sven Baertschi, Dan Hamhuis and Brandon Prust. When it rains, it pours.
This made it especially concerning when Canucks leading scorer, Daniel Sedin, was struck in the face with an errant puck in Monday night’s contest with the Arizona Coyotes.
The Canucks were attempting a dump-in play, which went sour from the onset. At a jump-ball opportunity, Michael Stone of the Arizona Coyotes leapt to swat the puck out of harms reach. Unfortunately, Daniel Sedin was hot on his trail and wound up eating the bloody thing.
Daniel was attended to by the Canucks training staff, before being taken to the dressing room for further repairs. As of right now, it appears as though Daniel will be missing teeth and blood, rather than games, as a result of this.
We’ll get more information to you as it becomes available. For now though, the safe bet is that there will be no long-term repercussions from this injury.
