Welcome to the second written edition of Memorabilia Monday, a new segment here at CanucksArmy where, every Monday during the Canucks’ offseason, we will highlight a piece or multiple pieces of Vancouver Canucks memorabilia, as submitted by our readers and listeners of Canucks Conversation.
This week, we’re looking at an obscure subsection of memorabilia: Edible Canucks memorabilia.

Corn Flakes and the Cup win that never was

First up, we have these commemorative Corn Flakes, courtesy of Pat Gibbons, who shares that he has kept the 1994 box of cereal unopened.

As you can see in the photo, Pat’s box celebrates the 1994 as “Western Conference Champions”.
But as The Province’s Jonathan McDonald noted back in 2011, there were also some pre-made boxes celebrating the Canucks’ 1994 Stanley Cup Championship win! Of course, the Canucks fell to the New York Rangers in seven games of the 1994 Stanley Cup Final. As we noted last week, losing team’s championship merch is always made and ready to go. When that team loses, though, it is typically destroyed or donated with the goal of never seeing the light of day.
As McDonald noted in his story, a reader named Marcella Munro wrote to him to share that her colleague Bruce Young acquired one of these boxes of Corn Flakes celebrating the Canucks as Stanley Cup champions “fresh off the line” from a friend working at Kellogg’s.
“As we know, it (the Canucks winning the Stanley Cup) didn’t happen, and the boxes Kellogg’s had printed were destroyed … all but (to our knowledge) the one that’s now framed and hanging in our office,” Munro wrote. “It’s pretty awesome. We treat it like a talisman around here.”

What a piece!
Hey, speaking of which…

Canucks gum

Adam on Twitter/X submitted this gem: Unopened chewing gum from 1997-98:
And don’t worry, as the Big J Journalist that I am, I asked Adam the question on everyone’s mind: has he ever thought about it? You know, cracking that sucker up and eating some near-30-year-old chewing gum?
“Maybe once they win a Cup,” was his answer. Good answer!

Sedin Beer

From Nick on Twitter/X:
Beautiful!

Pavel Bure Mac n Cheese

I have requested a photo from DJ Watts, who he has an unopened 1998 Kraft macaroni box with Pavel Bure on it. I can’t find examples of this online, but DJ said he’ll get us a photo of it soon! Check back later!
UPDATE: Here it is, in all it’s glory.

Honourable Mention: Canucks cookbooks

This is an honourable mention for two reasons. 1) You can’t consume a cookbook itself and 2) The Canucks cookbooks are so legendary that they deserve an article of their own.
