Chris Tanev out with Injury, Alex Biega Recalled, Markstrom soon to follow

Nov 8, 2015, 15:04 ESTUpdated:
Soon, it might be more fitting to call Vancouver’s group of defencemen “corpses” rather than corps. Left and right, players are bowing out with injuries, and today, Chris Tanev can be added to the mix. The 25-year-old defenceman will miss today’s game against the New Jersey Devils, with an upper body injury.
Alex Biega has been called up by the Canucks for the second time this season, but this time, he’ll actually hit the ice. Biega has an assist, an even rating, and two penalty minutes in six games with the Comets this year, and played the first seven games of his NHL career last season.
Tanev has been listed as day-to-day.
In other news, coach Willie Desjardins confirmed that Jacob Markstrom will be called up from his conditioning stint sooner than later, and could be in the lineup as early as Tuesday. Markstrom played two games for the Comets, allowing four goals (plus two in the shootout) against the Toronto Marlies in his season debut, but followed that up by stopping 20 of 21 shots in a 5-1 win over Providence yesterday.
In the mean time, Ryan Miller will start today as the Canucks take on the New Jersey Devils at 2 PM.
