It’s the last scrimmage before the exhibition game and you better believe this is where you want to be. The Canucks are undefeated in their scrimmages so far and I’m going out on a limb and say they stay undefeated after this one.
This is the final tune-up for Brock Boeser, Zack MacEwen, Jake Virtanen, and Jacob Markstrom. Who stands out, who’s the hero? After today, we’ll actually be able to see for ourselves. For now, radio is our best friend.

LINEUPS
This is the last time this area will be empty. Does Jake do something to stay out of this spot? Is it MacEwen’s spot to lose now?
THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS WE NEED TO HAVE ANSWERED!
SCRIMMAGE NOTES
  • It’s going to be tough to get listeners for tonight’s matchup. Most of the Canucks fanbase has jumped to the Kraken in Seattle. Will there be a big enough draw to bring them back to their TVs a week from now?
  • Craig Button has the Canucks being a sleeper this season. Does that include tonight’s game? No. Again, Travis Green needs to have some serious coaching decisions shored up for the start of the playoffs and it would be nice if they had some solid backups to look to if a COVID case rears its head or just a good ol’ injury. The Canucks are preparing for a run, beware.
  • Elias Pettersson is ready for the postseason. His shot was ready a week ago. Will Thatcher Demko be a victim or at the very least, his mask?
  • No more phantom games. Let’s get it on!
MY 94 CENTS
It’s going to be a goaltender’s battle tonight. I’m so excited to see no goals and hope that the Canucks can play low-scoring hockey and we cheer on win after win after win. Is that so much to ask?
THE FINAL WORD
There are some big questions coming into the exhibition game and Travis Green is about to earn his paycheck with his next few coaching decisions. How much do we see of the prospects and does Olli Juolevi create a name for himself? Gotta know, just gotta know.
We’ll have a complete and comprehensive post game dropping tonight, as Chris Faber will be in attendance for the last scrimmage before the Canucks leave for Edmonton on Sunday.
