Canucks just need to go back to their rooms tonight, get super drunk, have some poutine, smoke a deck of darts, and show up fresh tomorrow.

OPENING FACE/OFF
After a four-game win streak, the Canucks pathetically forgot how to play hockey when they took to the ice to continue their season series with the Montreal Canadiens. Not even a Jay Beagle goal late in the third period could save the Canucks from embarrassment. Thankfully, Adam Gaudette provided some drive and Elias Pettersson has his clapper on point but that’s about it.
It could be another long night for the Canucks but it is possible they figure things out. A very small possibility, but still.

LINEUPS
Jake Virtanen made it back into the lineup, but at what cost? Antoine Roussel was taken out of the lineup for what Green called a “health decision” but neither of those two would have made a difference yesterday. This Canucks team needs to give their collective heads a shake. How is it this hard to beat the Canadiens?
Thatcher “Bubble” Demko will start tonight. There is hope.

Don’t expect any lineup changes from a Canadiens squad that pulverized the Canucks.
Jake Allen will likely start although Carey Price wasn’t exactly tested yesterday.

GAME NOTES, INTERESTING STATS, AND FREE STUFF!
- The Canucks have been outscored 23-12 against the Canadiens so far this season, almost a 2-1 pace. Vancouver is averaging 3.00 GF/GP but they’re averaging just under six goals allowed with a 5.75 GA/GP. Like the butterfly meme says, “is this hockeying?”
- We promised free stuff and we’re bringing you FREE STUFF!!!! Vancouver has already given away the puck 35 times against the Canadiens free of charge. Thankfully for the Canucks, NHL.com doesn’t show goals from giveaways because it has to be 1/3 if not worse.
- Montreal is capitalizing on every aspect of the game including the PP against the Canucks. Vancouver is allowing 0.75 GA/GP on the PK versus the Canadiens. At this point, you’re thinking “Can the Canucks suck any more than they do against the Habs?” Let’s see.
- Tyler Toffoli has seven goals. Six of those have been in a Canucks net. Thankfully, he only has three assists to go with those six goals. See? Positivity.
- Thatcher Demko gets the start and if there is a sliver of hope, he would be it. Take the over on shots to the mask. Setting the line at 1.5.

MY 94 CENTS
I can’t imagine we’ll see an effort that doesn’t resemble what we saw yesterday. The Canucks just have no idea how to compete against the Canadiens and that is troublesome. Tyler Toffoli scored again and he’ll repeat that tonight. I believe in this team but there’s no way you can do a complete 180 overnight.
THE FINAL WORD
Canucks make it to the third period and blow it midway through. Thatcher Demko has another amazing game but the team loses 1-0.
