Canucks trade Hunter Shinkaruk to Calgary for Markus Granlund

Looks like the Vancouver Canucks have jumped into the trading waters.
The Canucks have traded Hunter Shinkaruk to the Calgary Flames in exchange for Markus Granlund.
Well it was first reported by Aj Jakubec who Play by Play/host at TSN 1200 Radio Ottawa.
Drafted in the second round of the 2011 NHL Entry draft, Markus Granlund has 7 points in 31 games this season after putting 18 points in 48 games last year. But that doesn’t fully paint the picture, but his Warrior chart below will:

As you can see, Granlund has been struggling at the NHL level and add to that there have been concerns about his size and ‘battling’ and thus being able to make it at the NHL level.
Granlund did do well in the AHL with 46 points in 52 games during the 2013-14 season. So in theory, Shinkaruk is where he was two years ago.
Shinkaruk was on TSN 1040 after the trade and didnt suggest that he asked for a trade.
