After a sprint of picks from the second round to the top of the fourth, the Vancouver Canucks granted themselves something of a respite as they dealt the 112th overall selection to the Chicago Blackhawks for the 135th and 181st overall selections.
The exchange sees the Canucks reenter the fifth and gain an additional seventh round selection in exchange for their fourth overall.
Vancouver already used their 135th selection on draft-plus-two defenceman Kristoffer Gunnarsson — more on that later.
