Canucks sign Jack Skille to PTO

Sep 19, 2016, 14:59 EDTUpdated:
With training camp a few days away, the Vancouver Canucks added to their roster, signing Jack Skille to a professional tryout. The Madison, Wisconsin native played last season for the Colorado Avalanche, where he posted 14 points in 74 contests.
Skille has also played for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks and Florida Panthers. Skille is a natural right winger who is listed at 6’1″ and 216 lbs.
For the Canucks, Skille appears to have a long road to climb given the incumbent forwards that the Canucks currently have, as well as their previous invites of James Sheppard and Tuomo Ruutu. But Skille plays a two way game with speed that could be attractive in a bottom six role. It’s unlikely the Canucks would sign Skille but he provides a veteran player who can push other players and create competition.
