Adam Gaudette is racking up the frequent flyer miles this year with multiple journies between the AHL and the NHL and is making the trip to meet the Canucks again.
The full press release can be found below:
Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has recalled forward Adam Gaudette from the Utica Comets.
Gaudette, has split the season between Vancouver and Utica this season. The Braintree, MA native has registered seven points (3-4-7) in 32 games with Vancouver. He scored his third of the season on Jan. 10 versus Arizona. The 6-1, 183-pound forward has also accumulated 11 points (5-6-11) in 14 games with the Comets. He set an AHL career-high in goals (2) and tied a career-high in points (3) on Jan. 5 to help the Comets defeat Cleveland 6-2 on Jan. 5. He also registered seven points (3-4-7) over seven games in the month of January.
The move was needed because Brandon Sutter was unable to suit up last night with a groin injury that is going to keep him out of the lineup for a ‘little while’:
Sutter is "going to be out a little while" with an injury in his "groin area."
Given that Markus Granlund played centre last night, it’s fair to assume that is the landing spot for Gaudette and then Granlund will slide to the wing, or possibly be the odd man out if the coaching staff feels that Zack MacEwen deserves a longer look.
The Canucks will take on the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night and then head up the I-5 to take on the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.
