JT Miller won’t be in the Vancouver Canucks’ lineup tonight when they take on the Dallas Stars.
But despite a report late last night that stated his name has emerged in trade discussions over the last day or so, Miller’s absence isn’t trade-related. On Monday, the club announced that Miller will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali — The Team was first to report on Miller’s injury and throw water on the speculation that Miller could be scratched tonight for trade-related reasons.
JT Miller did not make the trip to Dallas. He has an injury and early word is he could be out a week.
Miller will presumably be out through Friday’s trade deadline. Miller is in the final year of his contract with the Canucks which carries a cap hit of $5.25 million. The seven-year extension Miller signed with the club kicks in next season, and carries a full no-move clause until the 2027-28 season, when it becomes a modified no-move clause where Miller submits a 15-team no-trade list.
The Canucks play the Stars tonight before returning back home after a quick one-game road trip. Puck drop is at 5:30 PM.
