Vancouver Canucks prospect Lukas Jasek has signed in Finland, according to multiple reports.
Selected in the sixth round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Canucks, the winger-turned-centre is coming off of his best professional season.
Trusted with top six minutes in Utica with the Comets, Jasek potted four goals and added 19 assists through 28 games.
In February, Comets head coach Trent Cull told CanucksArmy that Jasek had become a “checked box” player for him. Jasek was poised to become the first-line centre for the new Abbotsford AHL club this season.
Jasek’s three year entry-level contract with the Canucks expired at the end of this season.
Jasek is still Canucks property, and they will have the option of qualifying his contract after the NHL draft, according to Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali – The Team.
