Hey now, we got ourselves a winner! With Adam Cracknell potting the GWG from Matt Bartowski last night, the Canucks are 1-0 in preseason play. The silver lining is that they are 1-0, the reality is….it was barely a real game.

Jacob Markstrom looked great. so there’s that. But again, no one of value really tested him and by that I mean one guy like Hertl the Turtl doesn’t count. On we go to night two of the Canucks/Sharks saga! Will it be better than the first, will we see OT or will we be so dumbfounded by Sedinery that…I have nothing.
Lets get on with it.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS PRESEASON GAME
- Sure, we all wonder when the Sedins will eventually drop off…or if they will at all but there’s no way you can say they aren’t entertaining. This one is at the Rog and the fans should be there to welcome them back.
- If Ryan Miller stops the very first shot against the Sharks this evening, it’s already a better start than most of uber Canucks legend Roberto Luongo’s efforts against the Sharks. It’s year two in the goalie fishbowl, so even the preseason will be over analyzed.
- Canucks Army did NOT bring me on for my stat acumen, thank goodness, but I can’t help but look at zone exits, blocked shots, shot attempts and water bottle swig intervals. These fancy stats may be the end of me but in exhibition games you have to look for something. I challenge you to watch Hunter Shinkaruks #hydrateupdates…you could also call them hard working shifts that require water. I like hydrate updates better, so does its creator THE STANCHION
- Chris Higgins wasn’t smart enough to take a shot in his rock hard abs and blocked a shot on his ankle (is that a corsi?). He will not play.
- Jersey off your back night has a format for a reason, Jannik, just….no
- Now that Kraft Hockeyville is over, John and John can reference every other food brand throughout the broadcast and complain all you want, you look for it.
- If you see more than an OT goal, this game will already be more exciting. So there’s that.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
MY TAKE
I took the Sharks last night and, the Canucks won. As the homer preview, you usually expect us and every other local setup to pick the good guys. Well you know what? NO, IVE HAD ENOUGH! We shouldn’t just pick the Canucks because we think they’ll win because let’s be honest, they’re gonna lose a few. I shouldn’t have to cater to the happy, feel good crowd. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. If I want to pick the Sharks I will.
Now that I’ve sufficiently angered everybody, I have the Canucks win 3-2.
