CANUCKS ARMY GDT# 81 – CANUCKS @ FLAMES (AMBS)

By Always90four
Apr 7, 2016, 15:00 EDTUpdated:

Well now that the Rexall cluster#$#@ is done, the Canucks can focus their energy on the Flames. Calgary lost to the Kings on Tuesday after the Canucks managed to beat LA the night before, go figure. This will be the first time Hunter Shinkaruk plays against the Canucks since his departure around the deadline – still a stupid move if you ask me.
Auston Matthews Bowl Series continues and another Canucks loss would give them a better percentage going into the last game of the year on Saturday. There will be no Pavel Bure OT magic this time, but they do have Matt Bartkowski!

Andrey Pedan will once again be a winger instead of a defenseman and that is not where he should be. Jared McCann showed some feisty bits yesterday and maybe it’s frustration or maybe he’s trying to add to his arsenal, who knows? There are not a lot of bright spots left this year but keep an eye on Bo Horvat and Ben Hutton; these two should hopefully have a final couple of highlights left.
Ryan Miller will start, Marky played yesterday.

He’s on the frickin top line! You know how long that would have taken in Vancouver? Awhile to say the least. Shinkaruk gets time with Johnny Gaudreau and Boring Sean Monahan. Lance Bouma will not play after getting injured against the Kings so he w…..SERIOUSLY, SHINKARUK GETS TOP LINE DUTY!?!?!?!
Joni Ortio will start his 4th straight game, wonder if he wants that.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
- Hunter Shinkaruk in a Flames jersey. It might feel weird but it would be great to see him stick it to his former boss. Don’t get me wrong, I want to see the Flames lose like the rest of us but he was never given a proper chance. Go Shink!
- Bo Horvat as I said above has overall had a pretty good season. He has hands that would make Pavel Datsyuk nod and his he wants to win. He scored a beauty last night in the Regret at Rexall and we’ve all seen a few beauties at the Saddledome come off a Canucks stick. Let’s see one more.
- It’s a battle to gain ground on the first overall pick; both teams tied at 73 points so anything but a 3 point game would be welcome. It’s still possible to win that pick despite not finishing dead last. Run those simulators folks, it’s still possible. I ran the sim and got 2nd place six times, no firsts. Need to lose those last two.
- So we’re all big Alex Burrows fans, correct? He has some nice stattys againstversus (new word) the Flames. Since the start of the 2010 season, the one they call Burr has a 101.8 PDO and a CF% of 57.2 (5v5). He big time wants to win da turd against the Calgary. He’s had a forgetful year but the greatest storytellers pen amazing final chapters, usually on VH1 though.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
MY TAKE
I want to win, I really do but the efforts the Canucks are putting in aren’t winning ones. The Flames will showcase Shinkaruk a lot I bet; just lose it and go for that pick. Hopefully, it doesn’t sting like the loss yesterday.
WHAT’D I MISS?
